Wondermind asked me if I had anything wellness related I would recommend that I was happy that I had spent money on this year. A few wellness apps have been a big game changer for me, including: -Headspace: I love Headspace's sleepcasts and sleep stories. My kids have listened to them, too! If you have trouble falling asleep (like I do and millions of other people right now), make a nightly routine for yourself where you do something soothing for your brain for an hour before you go to bed. For me, this includes journaling and listening to sleep stories, which helps me calm down my sometimes overly busy brain. -Othership: I was first introduced to this app post Covid, when they reached out and offered it to me for free to try it out. Well, after the trial period, I was hooked, and now I happily pay to use it! It's a breathing app, but with breathwork exercises set to upbeat and fun music. It may not be for everyone, but it REALLY helps me remember to take breathing exercises seriously. It's like yoga for your lungs. I use it in the morning to ramp up my brain to focus. -Better Sleep: In addition to Headspace, I recently added Better Sleep to my apps - it's less expensive, and it has a "white noise mixer" where you can combine pink/brown/white noise at different levels that soothe/calm down your own picky brain. Studies have shown that brown noise can be particularly helpful for people with ADHD, it's at a lower register noise than white noise. I tend to prefer a combo which I make myself on the app. If these apps are too much of a big spend for you, you can also check out Headspace's free sleep stories on Netflix, which I used to play for my kids before bedtime before I bought the app. Hope this helps!
